This year for pride month, my friends and I decided to travel to California. We spent the entire week in the heart of the gay and lesbian mecca of San Francisco. Everybody knows that San Francisco is one of the top LGBT tourist destinations. Some neighborhoods cater specifically to LGBT tourism. My friends and I stayed in a privately owned hotel with only eight bedrooms. We were in the middle of the Haight-Ashbury district and we didn’t have to drive anywhere to experience the fun. Everything was within walking distance, including a recreational and medical cannabis shop. The first time I saw a pot dispensary in San Francisco, I was amazed. I could smell reefer from the sidewalk. It was a surreal experience to enter the building and see cannabis everywhere. I tried some cannabis edibles for the first time. I felt relaxed and calm, until I realized that two hours passed by in a matter of moments. The cannabis edibles seemed to get stronger and stronger as the day progressed. I ate food from every street vendor that we passed that day. The LGBT celebration for pride month was one long party and my friends and I had so much fun. I would absolutely go back and visit again. If the cost of living wasn’t outrageous, I would even consider moving to San Francisco, CA. Unfortunately, the median income to survive in San Francisco is more than $100,000 and I don’t have a college education or any way to earn that kind of money. I would have to be homeless and that doesn’t sound like a lot of fun.
