I applied for a management position at a San Francisco marijuana dispensary, i had an interview 3 weeks ago and it went particularly well.
I had a minute interview a couple of afternoons later, but the following day I acquired a cellphone call from the district supervisor of the marijuana dispensary in San Francisco.
He wanted to congratulate myself and others on getting the job… She told myself and others that someone would call myself and others in a couple of afternoons to set up the next steps in the process. I genuinely thought that might mean another interview. I did not hear anything for a week and I was starting to lose my mind. I wanted to call the district supervisor, but I was trying my best to show patience… When the district supervisor finally called, I was absolutely relieved. I started last Tuesday. The marijuana dispensary in San Francisco is about 45 minutes away from my home. It’s a lengthy drive, so I had to be sure to get the salary that I suggested. When I first spoke with the district supervisor of the San Francisco marijuana dispensary, the job was being offered at $10,000 less per year than I felt the job was worth. I counter offered with a higher number. That is likely the reason why it took so long for them to get back to me, then maybe they were trying to find someone else with the same experience that was willing to work at the dispensary for $10,000 less each year. I know my worth and I wasn’t going to make the weekly commute for anything less than $85,000 a year.
