After my husband and I got a divorce, I thought about moving away from the city.
My parents were still living in Lee’s Summit, missouri.
They told me I could come home anytime. I didn’t really want to return to that small town, but I was out of options and going back home was as good as any. I packed up a U-Haul with all of my things and drove 17 hours all the way back to Lee’s summit, missouri. I knew I was getting close when I saw corn and Fields of potatoes. There are lots of corn and potatoes grown in the area where I grew up. Lee’s Summit has certainly changed since I was a teenager. The small town is much bigger now with lots of dining, nightlife, theaters, and art installations. Lee’s Summit seemed like an entirely different town when I returned. I found a job working at a convenience store and I started saving up money so I could get my life back together. Things were going really well until I met Dan. My mom and dad had to call an HVAC provider in Lee’s summit. The guy that showed up to fix the air conditioner was dan. Dan and I hit it off immediately. His smile reminded me of my ex-husband. Dan and I made a date to go to a movie and dinner. Stan and I have now been on six dates since he showed up at my parents to repair the air conditioner. I think the relationship is going pretty well. I never thought I would stay in Lee’s Summit long-term, but if this relationship works out, I will probably stay here for the rest of my life.
