When our hubby and I moved to Alsip, IL, the people I was with and I had no system what to expect; All of us knew it would be a substantial change from where the people I was with and I started in the southern section of the country, however my hubby and I had never even seen snow before.
All of us didn’t own an ice scraper, snow shovel or Winter time boots, however our former beach house was equipped with air conditioner and no oil furnace.
All of us upset about excess humidity causing mold and mildew growth. Our new beach house is outfitted with a furnace and no centralized cooling system. All of us arrived in Alsip at the end of September, and the weather was already cold! I right away turned up the control component and started the oil furnace, with un-even temperatures in the mid forties, our hubby and I were regularly shivering. All of us were not ecstatic when there was a foot of snow on the ground by Halloween and the temperature dropped down to thirty degrees. I kept raising the control component setting, trying to keep warm; The utility bill was an unpleasant surprise. I finally called an Heating & A/C business in Alsip and asked for a recommendation! She proposed that the people I was with and I install a whole-house humidifier. She said that overly dry air feels colder than officially moisturized air. The humidifier made a large difference. I was able to lower the control component setting and yet the beach house feels more comfortable. All of us are sleeping better at night and having fewer complaints with headaches. I’ve even noticed that our hair isn’t as frizzy. I’m not quite sure if our hubby and I will ever get accustomed to winters that last for more than half the year. I don’t think I’ll ever prefer shoveling snow or scraping ice off our windshield, but at least our beach house now feels sizzling and cozy.
