Didn’t want the two HVAC unit Minneapolis house

When my husband and I toured houses in Minneapolis, Minnesota I loved this one place.

It was set up very oddly however. The previous owner definitely added onto the space without any real plan. The laundry room was right by the front door and also contained a bedroom. Adding onto the front meant all the bathrooms were in the back of the home and way too far. There was also a storage area that simply wasn’t finished. The owner didn’t add insulation or seal it properly which isn’t good in MN. I really loved the kitchen and living room though. The kitchen was huge with brand new countertops and an open bar top area that could also serve as living room seating. The living room had floor to ceiling windows, a wood ceiling and gorgeous brick floors. It was the prettiest part of the house. It was the reason I wanted the house. The snag was that the home had two HVAC units. My husband was all up in arms about this. Why were there two? Was something major the matter? For me I didn’t think it was a concern. I had never owned a home before though. Now that we passed on the home and are in our current house, I am glad we have a single HVAC unit. I can’t imagine the work of maintaining, repairing and cleaning two HVAC units in Minnesota. My husband was right too, two HVAC devices means something major was wrong with that house. Too bad, since that living room with those huge windows was so beautiful.
