Living in Elgin means that I am familiar with cold weather, i am about forty five minutes away from Chicago, which is great.
I get the small city feeling without the stress of being in a city.
I also am near anything I could possibly want. If I want to see a professional activitys team, theater, event, or do some great shopping, the city is right there. In Elgin I get to have a quieter, safer locale to live. I also like that I can afford a greater plot of land with a nicer home. I don’t need to be right in the heart of the city. I could actually only afford a small loft in the city. Instead I live in a nice loft with all the perks. I recently did some upgrading in my home! With the cold winter time weather being so prominent, I decided to privatize my heating equipment. I replaced to a boiler system and stored it in my basement. I then had piping affixed to it and redid my floors, then the pipes installed under the new flooring, but now water is heated by the boiler and flows through the pipes throughout my house. There are no hot and cold spots due to the pipes being all over. The hydronic heating method means no air is rising, stirring up dust, or creating cold spots! Since the heat stays at my feet, I really save cash. It is quiet, cleaner, and more efficient. I also cherish that it is stored away. There is no giant, bulky equipment taking up my home office space… Everything is tucked away from harm and from prying eyep.
