When I travelled to Spokane WA, I saw several odd sites. I couldn’t believe how hot it was in the summer, plus there were homeless people hanging out under the trees. There was undoubtedly little humidity, so once you got out of the sun, it made a important difference. I saw a sign on the window of a church plus it read, ‘Welcome to our Cooling Center’. I wondered what they meant by a Cooling Center. I went into the church plus I began to ask questions. Being a writer, I was always interested in reading current things. The priest told me that when the temperatures got into the nineties, they opened the church for people to come in plus keep cool. The doors were always unlocked plus they had the a/c on from day till night. He said it was their way of helping to keep the homeless safe. Many times, it was just the children who came in, or the elderly. There were some elderly who had their own homes, however they couldn’t afford to either have their a/c repaired, or to purchase an a/c unit. They didn’t care what their denomination was, or where they came from. Everyone was welcomed into the Cooling Center. He went on to tell me that there were several odd areas in the neighborhood that provided their stores plus libraries for people to be safe during dire heat. I walked out of the cooling center with a smile on my face, knowing that people savor the people of their neighborhood of Spokane WA.

Last summer, I was cabin from college to spend time with our dad, he was doing well, but I distraught about him being alone at home, and so, as our college friends went off on trips, I flew cabin to surprise him. He was not expecting me to be cabin when he came from work! Since the whole aim of coming cabin was to spend time with him, I opted to join him, and besides, I was elated at the thought of visiting a city I’d never been to, then that night was spent researching all the locales I could tour while our dad was busy with his many meetings. I also put down areas every one of us could go together on the list when he had some time to spare. I knew weed is legal in Santa Barbara and planned to indulge while there. All of us made plans, booked a hotel, and paid for flight tickets. But at the last sixth, our parents couldn’t make it due to work commitments! They made us go without them, and we enjoyed the trip more than we had thought we would. Summer was here and quite sizzling when we landed in Indiana. My first thought was I hoped the hotel rooms had an excellent cooling unit to keep us comfortable. The afternoon after we arrived, we made the choice to go to the Hartman Arboretum and were quite blown away by the experience. It was a single of the few Arboretums I had seen situated on private property and was designed by a single of the owners, Grant Hartman, he began laboring on this masterpiece in 2001, and the Hartman family maintains it to date. Inside, other visitors and we got a option to tour more than two magnificent gardens plus a stampery and a native vine arbor.

My Grandma plus I had won the contest of where all of us should vacation. Our goal was to appreciate time at the Rocky mountains plus get some inspiration. Every one of us got there mid-summer, plus the heat was not merciful at all. Thankfully, the hotel we’d booked had an excellent indoor cooling system to keep all of us comfortable, and dad had mentioned the museum a couple of times during the stay, however all of us always managed to go anywhere else, finally, more than one days before all of us were due to fly out, he put his foot down, plus all of us all headed to the museum. It turned out to be such a neat place plus inspired some paintings I would do once all of us got back home. The Denver Museum had quite a collection, from Egyptian mummies to dinosaur bones. Dad was an avid lover of everything to do with outdated Egypt, so this was the highlight of the vacation.

The Albright-Knox museum has a parent organization known as Buffalo Fine Arts Academy. The Academy dates back to 1862 and continues to play a huge role in the arts and culture of the city. The academy received funding in 1990 to set up an art gallery by Buffalo, NY, top-entrepreneur John J. Albright. The academy used the donations to contract architect Edward Broadhead Green to design the building. Construction began in 1901 and delayed the building’s completion in 1905. The art gallery in Buffalo, NY, opened its doors in May 1905 and was named after the Buffalo entrepreneur. The gallery had an addition made to it in 1962, thanks to the generosity of Seymour H. Knox Jr. and his family. It was at this time that the museum was renamed to include the Knox family name. A new building was designed to accommodate the changes and today welcomes thousands of visitors each year. The art gallery in Buffalo, NY, operates by acquiring key features that it displays for visitors. It has several prime collections spanning centuries and is a must-see for all visitors. After I retired from working in the film industry, my wife insisted that we move away from Hollywood.

She was ready to move ten years earlier, but I made her wait. I didn’t want to travel far and I loved California. Where else in the country can you find so many different climate zones. My wife and I looked for a house for three months before we found the perfect bungalow by the beach. The best part about the house was the fact that we were only one block from the water. I could have opted for a house directly on the beach, but it would have been an extra million dollars! Another great part about the neighborhood is all the shopping. There is even a recreational dispensary just three blocks down the street. I like to use recreational marijuana on the weekends. It’s nice to know that I don’t have to search all over the city when I want to purchase weed supplies. The dispensary will even deliver to our residence for a small fee.
